Hickory Grove impacted our community this weekend through the +1 Initiative Local Missions Day. About 200 volunteers reached out in six areas of service. Here is a report and gallery from this weekend:
Royal Oaks – 30 volunteers worked hard outside trimming shrubs, planting flowers and weeding the flower bed by the bus lot. They also painted the teacher’s lounge and distributed food from the Latin American Food Pantry.
Hearts and Hammers Project - 40 volunteers completed two projects while washing windows and doing light yard work.
Jackson Park – 55 volunteers mowed, mulched, graded the grounds and cleaned the inside of campus to prepare for camp.
CUP Ministry – 35 volunteers worked both inside and outside by sorting clothing, packing food, and doing general cleaning inside while others completed yard work of weeding flower beds, mowing grass, etc.
Hickory Grove Elementary School - 27 volunteers pulled weeds, mended fence, sprayed insecticide, mulched and cleaned up the landscaping.
HGES Book Drive – 11 volunteers sorted and boxed books that were donated by HGBC and shelved books for the library.
