We just got back to Quito after 3 days in Riobamba. Three GREAT days in Riobamba. We had a very good day Sunday at Un Solo Corazon – I really want to talk with you about helping this church out – we’ll talk more when we return. Once in Riobamba we discovered we were leading a Pastor’s conference – not exactly what we planned, but the Lord worked miracles and it went wonderfully. Susan taught 300 pastors, wives, and church leaders how to teach the ten commandments with hand motions – they loved it! And along the way Susan challenged them on each commandment over two nights. I taught on church leadership one night and Biblical Finances the second, and Nancy called them out the first night – challenging them to seek God’s face - encouraging them to walk daily with God. On the second night Nancy lifted them up as leaders and sent them off really excited about working for the Lord. Traci had them shouting in the aisles with her music as well. God was hard at work in Riobamba! Okay, so I am a little concerned, because we had 300 folks and one dog attending – and the dog walked out during my message. The rest of the team thought he was convicted and had to walk out.
During the day we visited a different village each day – two high up in the mountains. There we worked with young folks from the Riobamba seminary who did a great job with the kids and adults. We ended each visit with a discussion of the plan of salvation. We shared blankets, socks, gift bags of staples your donations helped purchase, and lots of gloves!
I attached a picture of the teenagers standing around with their new gloves on – it was about 75 degrees at the time – they were even playing volleyball and still had their gloves on – David – thanks so much – you really made a big difference in Ecuador. The second picture is Traci and Susan loading gift bags with your donated lotions and jewelry. We’re expecting 40 women tomorrow evening at the women’s conference back at Katty’s church.
We have already been greatly blessed, and more is coming! Thanks to each of you for your support – we have been able to be very generous to the folks in Ecuador thanks to your generousity!
Pray for us, we will be holding women’s conference tomorrow evening, then preparing food for freezing to be used at future events, we have a few projects to work on at the church and around the house, and we are planning to handle a little administrative work for One Heart Global Ministries. We’ll have lunch with Dr. Byron, our greatest supporter in Ecuador, and the “interim” pastor at Katty’s church.
Your hands are all over this trip already – some of you need to start praying now about joining us next time around!!!
Thanks for your prayers,
Rob and Susan
